Mt St Victoire - the red earth

Mt St Victoire, where Cezanne painted. We were on a camping holiday in 2003 and set our tent on the slopes of the mountain. It's really a long ridge and Cezanne mainly painted the end view. I placed my easel on the S side where the earth was ochre red with the bare rock emerging above and looked towards the Provence monument. I painted, my husband climbed towards the monument past groups of squealing schoolchildren learning how to rock climb and abseil; and we both had ' a grand day out'.
