Shutlingsloe, Cheshire, December 2004 |
© Copyright Fran Halsall |
The peak of Shutlingsloe materialises from a mist-filled valley, like an island floating on a sea of the palest blue. Although not the highest point on the Cheshire uplands, it is certainly the most recognisable, the flattop appears on the horizon from the surrounding three counties. In the subdued light of a cold December morning, the hill acts as a focal point in a sky painted with cloud layers.
