A serious contender for the most dramatic mountain range in the British Isles, the Cullin Hills rise up from the moorlands of Glen Brittle. It is the dominance of grey gabbro and dark basalt, which cause these mountains to be referred to as the "Black Cullins"; the "Red Cullins" lie to the east separated by Glen Sligachan. The jagged outline of these deeply eroded extinct volcanoes creates an unforgettable profile that captivates the imagination.
