Professionals : Dave (Cubby) Cuthbertson

Cubby Images is a small business, run by Joanna George and Dave 'Cubby' Cuthbertson located in the heart of the Scottish Highlands (close to Glencoe and Ben Nevis) and dominated by some of the most spectacular mountain scenery in Argyll.

Starting in the mid seventies and covering a period that extended some twenty years, Cubby’s name has been inextricably linked to the development of cutting edge climbing in Scotland. But the combined effect of climbing at the highest level and work as a guide, were beginning to take their toll. To alleviate stress on a waning body, Cubby made a decision to combine his love of the outdoors with a passion for photography, and in 1999 Cubby Images was born.

Portraiture, lifestyle and landscape play an important part of Cubby Images yet, climbing and mountaineering remains our specialism. Our library contains images of Scotland, Europe and other parts of the world and reflects all aspects of climbing, both summer and winter, on the crags and in the high mountains. Much of Cubby Images photography features regularly in climbing and outdoor publications and has been used widely for advertising, catalogues and promotional material within the outdoor industry.
