the first-ever online portrait of Britain’s natural heritage
Word is spreading of the Big Picture of Natural Britain with more and more people signing-up to contribute every day.
To date, Living Art has several hundred people signed up as Exhibiting Members, whose images will go forward to be included in the final giant aerial map.
The Big Picture is a unique, new project by Living Art to create the first ever ‘online’ portrait of Britain’s natural heritage and in doing so create awareness of the fantastic natural beauty and diversity of the British Isles.
Living Art is asking people to contribute images taken anywhere in the UK or Ireland of the landscape, flora and fauna, or people enjoying the outdoors.
The images will be used to create a stunning, gigantic mosaic map of Britain and Ireland, which will be printed onto a banner. Celebrated British illustrator and calligrapher Inkymole (www.inkymole.com) has contributed some of her fantastic artwork to border the mosaic, which, once completed, will go on display at prominent landmarks across the UK.
To be part of the Big Picture you need to be a Living Art Exhibiting Member – sign up for free at www.living-art.org.uk/members/. Once you are signed up you can contribute as many images to as many categories as you like but only one image per person will be on the final map so that everyone has a chance to be part of this exciting venture.
