Living Art is proud to announce it will be Arts Sponsor at the 2006 Kendal Mountain Festivals.

Kendal has always combined high quality art exhibitions with its programme of films and lectures, and this year promises to be no exception. The Festival runs 11-19th November 2006 with the main weekend 17-19th and three major exhibitions will be on display at the Brewery Arts Centre, Kendal.

In a major coup, this year’s Festival will be the first and possibly the only opportunity to see a full representation of the paintings and drawings from the acclaimed artist and mountaineer T. Howard Somervell. Drawn from the Alpine Club’s collection and private owners, the exhibition promises a unique perspective on his work.

In addition the Brewery’s galleries will host an exhibition of photographic images from Climber magazine plus inspirational photographs from Dave Willis and Jon Sparks of the Outdoor Writers Guild.

“We feel that there is a strong synthesis between the aims of Living Art and the Kendal Mountain festivals”, says Si Homfray, Living Art founder. “Art and conservation are inextricably linked in the Festival’s identity so it’s a perfect match with our own aspirations.”
