Direct from the Workshop
Living Art, based in the heart of the Peak District, is home to a small gallery but also a small but fully equipped workshop.
We can build canvas stretcher frames in house to any size and we can, if the image is of sufficient quality, print upto 3m wide, just ask. We frame all our own exhibitions but we also frame your pictures.
You can supply images in any form on CD, by email on a flash card or for scanning as prints. To find out more about printing and framing prices visit the price calculator at Printing and Framing Prices. For a quick and easy price grid you could download our latest 2008 Price List.
Its easy to print your own canvas art

1. digital printing from ANY IMAGE you want
We can take any digital image, from your camera or from a scan on a CD and blow it up and print it to canvas. We can also take your original prints and transparencies directly, scan and enlarge them for you. We offer a digital retouching service if your images need some ‘cleaning’ or prettifying!
2. printing to ANY SIZE you want
We can blow your image up to 1.52 metres (60”) wide and up to any length, even 12 metres!
We use a pigmented ink which is guaranteed not to fade for 60 years.
3. framing.
We block mount and stretch a canvas over high quality, pine stretcher bars made to an industry standard. Our usual choices of frame depths are 28mm (1.1") and 40mm (1.6"), however we can offer other depths if required. All frames are individually constructed to fit the size you choose for your canvas print.
4. finishing.
Our standard finish involves lacquering your canvas with a waterproof professional quality Giclee satin varnish. We can also add a gloss varnish instead or even leave your print unvarnished. These varnishes not only enhance the print raising the texture of the canvas but further protect the surface of the print from UV light and abrasion. All canvases are sealed with varnish to prevent damage but please note that that canvas is a surfaced print and as such is susceptible to abrasion.
Notes:
Colour
By careful use of colour calibration and consistent printing techniques we can maintain precise colour and quality reproduction of prints from one print to the next. There may however be slight variation to unforeseen circumstances and as such we reserve the right to alter or modify the product image where necessary.
Care
Canvas in extraordinary conditions: Please note that we use a full weight cotton backed canvas that as a natural fibre is susceptible to extremes of temperature and humidity. We recommend hanging work in a temperature of between 12C and 25C. Please contact us if you wish to know more.
