I think the nuthatch is one of our prettiest birds - they look like tiny bandits with their black eye-stripe, and their overall colour is lovely. It seemed to fit very well with the autumn colour of the old cherry tree this one was sitting in, at the RHS garden at Rosemoor, in Devon
