An Eye for the Landscape

The best of the best of the Peak District National Park exhibited at Buxton Tourist Information Centre as part of the new Living Landscape II exhibition from Living Art, with backing from the Sustainable Development Fund. The exhibition featured images from acclaimed photographers and newer photographic talents alike. A selection of these images are available to view at the Living Art gallery in Hathersage.

Living Landscape II, a celebration of the Peak District National Park, presents a glorious perspective on Europe’s most visited national park. The exhibition comprises work as seen through the eyes of some of those who know it best: artists that live and work within the Peak District.

Contributors to The Living Landscape II include John Beatty, Paul Hill MBE, Mark Hamblin, Karen Frenkel, Bridget Flemming, Ray Manley, Mike Williams, Graham Dunn, Lee Beel, Stephen Elliott, Jonathan Ratnage and Adam Long.

The exhibition aims to convey the detail, the warmth, the essence of why we use our Park, why we love our Park, and why we should celebrate our Park and continue to fight to conserve it for future generations to enjoy.

“Visitors will be captivated by its ability to convey a message that this country's first National Park is a miniature, working example of how life really can work in balance and harmony with nature, to protect it for future generations to enjoy,” says Si Homfray, exhibition curator and founder of Living Art.

The Living Landscape II has been supported by the Sustainable Development Fund, which is administered by the Peak District National Park Authority, and sister company Hammer Design.

Accessible by public transport, Living Art would encourage people visiting to use this more sustainable method of travel. The Living Landscape II can be seen in Hathersage at the Living Art Gallery and features additional, previously unseen work.
