Just off the Pennine Way, high on Bleaklow, I’d walked for quite a while with heavy bags to complete a walking book commission and hoped to find these stones whilst the light was still behaving. This time I was in luck and had enough time to try out lots of different angles. So many times, it’s a race against the light and ends in a wasted long trip as the clouds descend and spoil everything. It’s easy to get lost round here too!
