Ben Winston is a freelance writer and photographer specialising in travel and adventure stories and images, but increasingly working in documentary and reportage. He lives in Sheffield for the sanity afforded by the nearby Peak District National Park, but is frequently abroad working or climbing.
His work appears in the Independent on Sunday, The Times, The Saturday Telegraph Magazine, The Sunday Times Travel Magazine, Geographical, Trail, Climber, Triangle, Footprint Guidebooks and Planet Fear, although he also regularly shoots commercial commissions for Lowe Alpine. Most at home in the mountains and the wilder parts of the globe, Ben is comfortable working in extreme environments.
