Exhibiting Members : Peter Leeming

Hello, and welcome to my page at Living Art displaying a selection of my landscape and travel images. I am a professional landscape photographer based in North Yorkshire, England, and I specialise in making panoramic images. I have been a professional Biologist for the last twenty years, and I have spent most of my life climbing mountains or travelling to and from mountain ranges, with numerous visits to the European Alps, and mountaineering expeditions to the Peruvian Andes and the Pakistan Karakoram. The mountains and coastline of Scotland and particularly the Hebrides, as well as the Yorkshire coast, provide a constant source of inspiration for my work. Recurring themes in my images are nature, the mountain environment and wild places. My portfolio also contains images from visits to India and Sri Lanka. Since 2005, I have worked almost exclusively with the excellent Fotoman 617 panoramic camera, supported by a Mamiya 7II film camera, Lee filters, and of course the brilliant Velvia transparency film. I have had articles and images published in a variety of climbing and mountaineering magazines and journals, and I have presented illustrated lectures to numerous groups and societies. You can see more of my images at www.peterleemingphotography.com
