I am a Senior Lecturer in the Centre for Wildlife Conservation (www.cumbria.ac.uk/wildlifeconservation) and National School of Forestry at the University of Cumbria. I am a behavioural and population ecologist who specialises in the conservation and management of large mammals. Although most of my work has been with brown bears I have also worked with a wide range of species including both marine and terrestrial mammals in North America, Europe, Africa and Asia. This has given me some amazing opportunities to see and photograph spectacular wildlife in its natural habitat. In addition to my research work I am also Course Director for our BSc (Hons) Animal Conservation Science, BSc (Hons) Conservation Biology and BA (Hons) Wildlife and Media degrees and supervise post-graduate research students within the Centre.
