Mangersta Beach, grass circle, Isle of Lewis, October 2007

Mangersta Beach, grass circle, Isle of Lewis, October 2007

A perfect circle in the sand formed by a single blade of grass continually rotated in the gentle breeze. On this sunny morning, there were many interesting shapes and shadows within the dunes, but none were as perfect as the geometry resulting from this arrangement. Capturing transient moments such as these is the very essence of my photography. I knew that this form would soon disappear in the shifting sands.
