I visited Tenby while cycling and walking in Pembrokshire (August 2006), having heard nothing about the town and expecting nothing more than the average seaside town, with some boring marina and maybe a few pubs serving the locals. Being a foreigner myself i travelled a fair bit around the country and came to know many of UK's least touristy spots after living in the country for the last 8 years. Now, Tenby.... i knew nothing about. Admittedly i was in for a big surprise. It was late afternoon and the visting open market was just about to close for the day, so i took a stroll and head for the marina. Upon arrival i witnessed one of the most strange scenery: all vessels currently tied up were floating on the sand instead of the sea. Bewildered by the view, ti took me a whlie to realise that the little vessel-graveyard i was facing was no other than the Tenby marina on any early evening and all the boats that looked as if they'd been randomly dropped from the sky would be floating in water again soon.
