As I am a painter first and foremost I use the camera as an assistant. To record details, close-ups, the weather, light, shadows, an overall picture - anything that will help me finish the painting later on. But I also compose a lot of my art at the 'camera stage' already knowing more or less what I'm looking for, and as a result many of the images make splendid photographs in their own right. I also have fun sometimes altering them digitally.

I'm not sure yet what I'll put on here but I do know that I will be heading out with my camera again soon in search of fresh images & inspiration. Although I don't always start off feeling very inspired, as soon as I start "clicking away" something good usually occurs.

My field is mostly urban but we'll see what happens.

The photo on my profile is of my cat, and I do realise that technically this is a bad photo but it does 'capture' the personality of the cat, so in that resepct it works!
