Robin Ashcroft

There are two main thrusts within Robin Ashcroft’s work.

That wilderness can often be found close to home. He aims to show that at the start of the 21st Century – and bearing in mind our individual responsibilities to the state of the environment – there is no need to travel to the ends of the earth to make a connection with wild places. That connection can happen on your doorstep, well almost on your doorstep.

That exploration is something that has always been an individual experience, that travelling through wild and beautiful places is a discovery of self as much as it is an exploration of place. The fact that someone has been there before is irrelevant - as both the view and the experience are still fresh to the person who is seeing it for the first time.
