Mike Arblaster

I live in South Derbyshire, but originate from Chesterfield. I have been a keen amateur photographer for about thirty years. I converted from 35mm film to digital photography in 2000 when Canon introduced their first digital SLR the EOS D30. I now use two Canon 5D's. Retirement has given me more time to combine my interest in landscape photography with my enjoyment of walking. I try to get out into the Peak District at every opportunity to photograph the many varied aspects of the Derbyshire and Staffordshire landscapes. I also enjoy walking and photography in the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, Northumberland and the Norfolk coast and have recently visited the Isles of Skye and Mull.

I won the 'Your Peak District' category in the Friends of the Peak District Photographic competition 2007 with my photo 'Fields at Longnor'. It was published as the front cover of the 'Peak District Life' magazine Sept/Oct 2007 issue.
