Mike Arblaster

I live in South Derbyshire and have been a keen amateur photographer for thirty years. I converted from 35mm film to digital photography in 2001 just after Canon introduced their first digital SLR the EOS D30. I now use two Canon 5D Mark III's. Retirement has given me more time to combine my interest in landscape photography with my enjoyment of the countryside. I try to get up into the Peak District at every opportunity to photograph the many varied aspects of the Derbyshire and Staffordshire landscape. Other areas of interest for my photography are the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, Northumberland and the Norfolk coast and I have recently visited the Isles of Skye and Mull. In 2007 I won the 'Your Peak District' category in the Friends of the Peak District Photographic competition with my photo 'Fields at Longnor'. It was published as the front cover of the 'Peak District Life' magazine in the Sept/Oct 2007 issue.
