Tim Glasby was born in 1963 in the industrial Lace making Town of Nottingham, England. After attending Trent university where he studied photojournalism and worked briefly on the provincial Nottingham Evening Post, he decided to combine a love of travel and photography by working extensively in foreign regions.
Over the next 10 years, which included visiting the 5 continents and culminated in 2 Himalayan Expeditions, he continued to write and supply photographs to over 40 specialist and sporting publications including: Windsurf, Parapont, Ballooning, Rock & Ice, Climbing, High, On the Edge, White Water, Extreme, Sports in the Sky, Outdoors, Gripped and Vertical.

During this period his work was often featured in both the international press including the British Sunday Times and the Independent and lifestyle magazines GQ Active and Loaded. Tim's work has also featured in equipment brochures and poster campaigns in the advertising world for highly prestigious clients such as Sony, Ericsson Communications, Edelmans Advertising and Killer Loop.

Over the last few years he has successfully turned his hand to photographing the physically demanding sport of ice climbing, establishing mutually rewarding working partnerships with leading climbers in the field including the highly respected North American climber Jeff Lowe and Canadian Guy Lassale.
